Ice Rinks "The Shed" Hours of Operation!

The skate shed is open on Sat 12-3, Sun 1:30-4 WHEN THE RINK IS OPEN! Weather Permitting 
(fingers crossed)
We have a very small number of skates due to the last September's flood.

About the Ice Rink at Riverside Park

LOCATION: Riverside Park in Tunkhannock, PA off of Rt. 29S just after the Rt. 6 by-pass intersection. Follow the narrow park road along the river.

  • 144′ x 64′ outdoor naturally-frozen ice rink on the banks of the Susquehanna River beneath the backdrop of majestic Avery Mtn.
  • Lighting for night skating
  • Pavilion with electrical service
  • Open fire pit with seating for ten people
  • Seating for additional people outside the fire pit
  • Full-size goals, pond hockey goals, used hockey sticks, hockey helmets for patron use
  • 24-cup coffee pot available to heat water for hot beverages (bring your own water, hot cocoa, coffee)
  • Small heated skate shed with donated skates (condition of these varies widely)
  • Portable toilet nearby
  • Very small hill suitable for young children to sleighride on
  • Playground equipment nearby — NOT open in 2012 due to flooding.
